AMP Sound Systems was founded in Ireland by Eoin O’Grady — a sound designer and technician with a passion for live performance. From local theatre shows to outdoor festivals and touring bands, AMP Sound Systems built a strong reputation for reliable kit and calm, professional crew. It grew steadily over the years, becoming a trusted name for events across the country.
From 2015, Eoin took his work on the road, touring the world with large-scale theatre productions.
When COVID-19 brought touring to a standstill, AMP Sound Systems closed its doors. But the story didn’t end there.
FlightShows — The Next Chapter
When the live events world ground to a halt during COVID-19, founder Eoin O’Grady joined forces with George Chatburn — a fellow touring technician — to launch something new. The result was FlightShows: a company that brings the same technical skill and show discipline into the sky using drones.
What started as a response to a global shutdown quickly became one of the most exciting event offerings in Europe. FlightShows now designs and delivers large-scale drone light shows across festivals, public events, private celebrations, and brand launches — all with the same calm, professional approach that AMP Sound Systems was known for.
The two companies share DNA. The difference? Now the lights are in the sky.
