ARKLOW REMEMBERS
PHILIP LYNOTT AND THIN LIZZY

The streets of Arklow are set to reverb to the classic rock sounds of Thin Lizzy on Saturday 12th April.
Ireland's number one Thin Lizzy tribute act, Belfast's TIZZ LIZZY will take to the stage at The Arklow Bay Hotel and treat the audience to the archetypal songs that took Thin Lizzy to the very pinnacle of rock stardom.
Who says Tizz Lizzy are the best? Philip Lynott's mother, Philomena, that’s who! Philomena will be attending this first time Arklow tribute gig which has been organised by devoted local Thin Lizzy supporters Colm and Mary Weadick and Bernard Fox from local band Avalanche
Just last January Philomena was among the thousands of others who witnessed this young band rock the rafters at the 22nd anniversary gig in Dublin’s Temple bar, better known as 'The Vibe for Philo'.
TIZZ LIZZY: It has taken Tizz Lizzy just a couple of years to emerge as the top Thin Lizzy tribute act in Ireland. Matt Wilson not only brandishes his bass guitar like a weapon of mass destruction, he also looks uncannily like a youthful Philip Lynott. So much so that Philomena did a double take when she first met him. Philip Edgar, on lead guitar is still only seventeen (in fact all four members are still in their teens!) but plays his guitar with an assurance that would make players twice his age gasp in admiration. Second lead guitarist Joe McQuillan and drummer Anthony Stuart, also fine musicians, complete the line up.
Ex- GRAND SLAM rhythm and bass guitarist Donal ‘Doish’ Nagle along with well known musician Martin Gallagher will kick off the event. Martin will also play saxophone for Dancing in the Moonlight with Tizz Lizzy.
Roddie Cleere DJ from Waterford Local Radio FM and Trustee of the Roisin Dubh Trust will be the narrator on Hero and the Madman while local musician Bobby Byrne from Arklow will play trumpet on Old Town with Boy Dyson.
Daniel Breslin from Dublin will recite his heart wrenching poem Ode to Philo.
Local bands Avalanche, Arnkill and Boy Dyson will play support on the night ensuring that the night will be of fabulous music.
